Adcirca is a means of impotence and enlarged prostate. PDE-5 inhibitor. Adcirca is also a medicine for high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs.

Active substances



Adcirca is used to the ability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. In order for Adcirca to be effective, sexual stimulation is necessary.

Adcirca is also used for the treatment of enlarged prostate.

Erectile Dysfunction

  • Adults
    • Usually 10 mg at least ? hour before sexual intercourse, no more than once a day.
    • With frequent need and if the effect of the treatment has been good before, a fixed, low dose (2.5 mg - 5 mg per day) may be considered.
  • Note: Daily use of 10 mg or more for a longer period of time is not recommended.

Enlarged prostate (Note: only 5 mg tablets):

  • Adults. 5 mg daily. Should be consumed at about the same time each day.

  • Adults. 40 mg once a day.

Special warnings

Using other medicines

  • Voriconazole and itraconazole (erythromycin), erythromycin and clarithromycin (antibiotics) and protease inhibitors (anti-HIV agents) increase the effect of Adcirca.
  • Rifampicin and rifabutin (tuberculosis), carbamazepine and phenobarbital (epilepsy) and prednisone (adrenal gland hormone) may reduce the effect of Adcirca.
  • Adcirca enhances the effects of nitrate preparations (anti-cardiac cramps) and concomitant use can cause severe blood pressure drop. Similarly, concomitant treatment with alpha blockers (antihypertensive agents) and riociguat (high blood pressure in the lungs) may cause a drop in blood pressure. Therefore, people treated with nitrate preparations or riociguate should not use Adcirca.
