Active substances

disodium phosphate

potassium hydroxide

Addiphos is used at:

  • Need for supply of phosphate and potassium.

Available as a concentrate for solution for infusion, after dilution, in a vein. The dose is individual and depends on the patient's fluid and salt needs.

  • Increased amount of potassium in the blood
  • Changing skin sensitivity
  • The heart's function is inhibited.

The side effects are seen especially in poorly functioning kidneys.

Should not be used

Can be used if necessary.

Can be used if necessary.

No warning.

Blood donor

Do not drop. If you can lose, however, depends on your illness.

Addiphos adds potassium and phosphate to the bloodstream. Nerves, muscles and kidneys need potassium to function normally and phosphate is part of the body's cells.

Pharmaceutical forms

Concentrate for solution for infusion. 1 ml contains 133.5 mg disodium phosphate dihydrate, 170.1 mg potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 14 mg potassium hydroxide.

Special warnings

Addiphos should be used with caution at:

  • Badly functioning kidneys
  • heart failure
  • Conditions of fluid accumulation in the body.

Using other medicines

It is important to inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
  • Concomitant treatment with potassium-sparing diuretics (amiloride and spironolactone) increases the risk of increased potassium content in the blood.
  • The risk is increased by concomitant use of ACE inhibitors (antihypertensive agents).
