Application

  • Alprazolam "Krka" is used as a sedative in anxiety, panic disorder and disorder, as well as in abstinence after alcohol abuse.
  • The drug may also be used in addition to other psychiatric treatment.

Dosage

Available as tablets. Anxiety and uneasiness:

  • Adults. Usually 0.5-1.5 mg 1-3 times a day.
  • For the elderly, by poorly functioning liver or kidneys as well as by sensitivity to the sedative effect. Usually 0.25 mg 3 times a day.

Panic disorder:

  • Adults. The dose is individual.The starting dose. Usually 0.5-1 mg at bedtime or 0.5 mg 3 times a day.Maintenance dose. Usually 1-2 mg 3-4 times a day.
  • For the elderly, by poorly functioning liver or kidneys as well as by sensitivity to the sedative effect. Usually 0.25 mg 3 times a day. The dose may be increased gradually if necessary to a maximum of 4.5 mg per day divided into multiple doses.

Note:

  • The dose should be reduced to the elderly.
  • The prolonged-release tablets should be swallowed whole.

Special warnings
