Aprokam is used to prevent inflammation within the eye after surgery.


Available as an injection for use in the eye.

  • Adults. 1 mg (0.1 ml) is injected slowly into the disease-affected eye at the end of the cataract surgery.

Special warnings

  • Caution with allergy to other antibiotics, eg penicillin.
  • If your ophthalmologist estimates that you are at risk of infection with resistant bacteria (insensitive to Aprokam), you will be offered another treatment.
