Betnovat® is a highly effective skin remedy with adrenal gland hormone.

Active substances

Betamethasone 17-valerate


Application

  • Betnovat┬« is used negatively for severe cases in certain other skin diseases, eg psoriasis
  • Cream used for dry or fluid skin areas,ointment to dry, crusty and scaly skin areas,kutanemulsion to tender, damaged or hairy skin,cutaneous solution to hairy skin, especially in the scalp.

Dosage

Available as cream, ointment, cutaneous emulsion and cutaneous solution.

  • Lubricate on the skin in a thin layer 1-2 times a day for a maximum of 4 weeks.
  • After each application, it should take enough time for the cream to be absorbed before applying a plasticizer.
  • With specially thickened skin, eg on elbows and knees, the effect of Betnovat┬« can be increased by using an occlusive dressing.
  • When the skin condition improves, you should switch to a mild drug.

Note:

  • To avoid side effects, treatment should not last longer than necessary.
  • Discontinuation after prolonged treatment should occur in a few weeks by reducing the dose gradually or possibly. Use a drug with weaker acting adrenal gland hormone. Otherwise, there may be a flash of skin disease with redness, burning and burning.

Should not be used

Betnovat® should not be used:

  • in case of allergy to the ingredients
  • in case of severe skin infection (eg rosacea, acne or dermatitis)
  • with other skin infections such as herpes or chickenpox unless the infection is treated simultaneously.
  • by skin itching around the genitals unless there is also inflammation (redness without bacteria).
  • in skin conditions in children under 1 year.

Pregnancy

Use only under certain conditions.

Can be used briefly in smaller areas by appointment with the doctor.

Pharmaceutical forms

Special warnings

  • The medicine may only be used for children in special cases.
  • Prolonged treatment of large areas of skin, especially in children and the elderly, and during occlusion (eg a bleed) may increase the absorption of the medicine in the body and systemic side effects, which may only be seen with, for example, adrenal gland hormone tablets. This may include revolves around cataracts, cataracts, increased tendency for infections as well as fluid accumulation in the body and altered fat distribution with moon face, barrel-shaped body and thin arms and legs.
  • Use on areas with thin skin such as in the face.
