Junik is used for prevention of asthma attacks.

Also used for COPD.

Dosage

Available as an inhalation spray.

Adults and children over 6 years old

The dose depends on how severe the asthma is. If you have not previously been treated with inhaled adrenal gland hormone, you should usually start with a low dose (100-250 micrograms a day for adults and 50-100 micrograms a day for children) or a medium dose (250-500 micrograms a day for adults and 100-200 micrograms a day for children).

Unknown

Cushing's syndrome - physical and mental changes due to high levels of adrenal gland hormone

Behavioral Disorder, Aggressiveness, Anxiety, Depression, Hyperactivity

  • Muscle contraction in the trachea is rarely seen by inhalation.
  • Specially for long-term treatment with high doses, there may be a risk of side effects other than airways, including Cushing's syndrome (eg moon-shaped face, small arms and legs, shortness of breath), fall in bone density and, more rarely (especially in children), psychological effects such as depression, anxiety and aggressiveness, may affect the adrenal cortex function. The risk of these side effects is much less on inhalation than by adrenal cancer hormone treatment with tablets or injection.
  • Stressy eyes (blurry vision due to fluid retention behind the retina) have been seen during treatment with adrenal gland hormones.

effect

  • Works locally in the respiratory tract.
  • The drug contains a binyrebark hormone that inhibits the tissue reactions seen by asthma. This facilitates air passage to and from the lungs.
  • Works exclusively preventive and has no effect on an ongoing attack.
  • The effect only occurs after several hours, and the strongest effect is seen after 4-7 days of treatment.

Pharmaceutical forms

Inhalation spray, solution. 1 dose (breath) contains 100 micrograms beclometasone dipropionate.

Special warnings

  • To remove residues of the product in the mouth after inhalation, rinse the mouth with water which is then spilled out.
  • Caution Breeding tuberculosis and infection of the respiratory tract with fungi or viruses.
  • At high doses you can see the effect of the adrenal cortex function, which is usually not practical.
  • In poorly functioning liver there is a greater risk that the agent will affect the rest of the body and not just the respiratory tract.
  • You should make sure you get enough calcium and vitamin D during treatment.
  • For long-term treatment of children with inhaled adrenal cortex hormone, the child's height should be measured approximately once a year.
  • If the drug has been affected by one's asthma and you suddenly stop treatment, there is an increased risk of acute asthma attacks.

Using other medicines

It is important to inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
  • Ritonavir (anti-HIV) may increase the risk of side effects from other parts of the body than the airways.
