Application

Mydriacyl® is used for the extension of the pupillary in conjunction with eye examination.


Dosage

Are there stray drops.

Adults

  • 1 drop 0.5% approx. 30 minutes before the examination.
  • If a faster effect is desired, eye drops can be dropped 1% every 5 minutes a total of 3 times.

Note:

  • Experience is missing about. children and teenagers.
  • People with a lot of color pigments in the eye may require higher strength or additional doses.

Mydriacyl® should not be used in:

  • Certain forms of green throat (narrow-angle glaucoma)
  • hypersensitivity to the constituents.

  • Works by eliminating the effect ofacetylcholine, which is a signal substance in the automatic (autonomic) nervous system. This relaxes the muscle that pulls the rainbow together.
  • The effect occurs within 15-30 minutes and lasts ? - 4 hours.

Pharmaceutical forms

Eye drops, solution 0.5% or 1%. 1 ml contains 5 mg or 10 mg tropicamide.

Special warnings

  • As eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride, they can discolour soft contact lenses. Contact lenses must be removed before ingestion and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting contact lenses.
  • Mydriacyl® should be used with caution in:
    • premature babies
    • children with brain injuries or spasticity
    • children with Down's syndrome
    • Children with very bright skin color.

👉 This medication is used to widen (dilate) the pupil of the eye in preparation for certain eye examinations. It belongs to a class of drugs known as anticholinergics.
