Pregnancy

Use only under certain conditions.

The medicine should only be used if your doctor considers that there are particular reasons why another drug can not be chosen.

You have knowledge of several thousand pregnant women who have been treated during the first 3 months of pregnancy without having a fetus injury. However, there may be a small risk that the child may have high blood pressure in the lung cycle with shortness of breath, rapid breathing and bluish skin and lips. If you are treated late in pregnancy, your child may be affected after birth. In the vast majority of cases, mild symptoms (crying, shaking and difficulty in dying and sleeping) are perceived by themselves. In some rare cases, symptoms may be more severe with convulsions and breathing difficulties.

breastfeeding

Use only under certain conditions.

There is a risk of side effects in the child. You should therefore choose another treatment as agreed with your doctor.

Traffic

No warning.

Blood donor

Do not drop. 3 months quarantine after end of treatment.

effect

Works by increasing the amount of signal serotonin, which is important for the pulse transfer in the brain. The regulation of these pulses seems to play some role in the development of depression, but the exact mechanism of action is not known. The full effect of depression can be expected after 2-6 weeks of treatment and by bulimia only after 8-12 weeks of treatment.

Fluoxetine is converted into the body norfluoxetine, which has an equivalent effect. Half-life In the blood (T?) is 2-3 days for fluoxetine (4-6 days after long-term treatment) and 7-15 days for norfluoxetine.

Pharmaceutical forms

dispersibletablets. 1 dispersible tablet contains 20 mg (partial) fluoxetine hydrochloride.

Special warnings

  • Possible increased risk of suicidal ideation or suicide behavior at the start of treatment, especially in young people under 25. In the first weeks of treatment and changes in dose, attention should be paid to indications of possible suicidal ideation or suicide attempts at all - especially in symptoms of anxiety or if there have been cases of suicidal behavior in the past.
  • In children and adolescents under 18 years, an increased risk of suicidal behavior and aggression and mania are seen as a common side effect. The treatment of children and adolescents under the age of 18 must be undertaken by a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry. For long-term treatment of children, physical and mental development should be monitored regularly. Special attention should also be paid to signs of suicide or mania.
  • Vedpanikangst, the fear may temporarily get worse at the start of treatment.
  • If you suffer from afschizophrenia, psychotic symptoms can worsen.
  • The product should be used with caution when:
    • Epilepsy and impaired convulsion threshold
    • Green star
    • Mani
    • Increased tendency for bleeding
    • Increased risk of decreased sodium content in the blood
    • Simultaneous treatment with Electrostimulation (ECT).
  • In case of an allergic reaction, cramps, cramps or worsening of epilepsy, treatment should be discontinued.
  • SSRI type antidepressants may reduce bone mass and thus increase the risk of fractures. However, decreased bone mass is also seen in untreated depression.
  • The drug should be used with caution if there is an increased risk of developing prolonged QT interval - a particular type of rhythm disturbance in the heart. For example, too little potassium in the blood, slow heart rate, various heart conditions, concomitant use of diuretics, and if you are a woman or over 65 years of age. If you experience symptoms of cardiac arrhythmias (eg palpitation, dizziness, fainting), consult your doctor.
  • Increased risk of low blood sugar during treatment if you suffer from diabetes. Elevated blood glucose levels are seen after treatment is stopped.
  • Can reinforce the influence of alcohol on consciousness and motor skills, which may, for example, be of significance in motor driving and operation of machines.
  • Upon discontinuation of treatment, the dose should be gradually reduced over at least 1-2 weeks, with sudden onset of rupture, palpitations, generalized flatulence and fever.

Using other medicines

It is important to inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
  • Fontex® may increase the effect of insulin (anti-diabetic), anticoagulants, tricyclic antidepressants (other anti-depressants), anti-psychosis drugs, and epilepsy agents (phenytoin and carbamazepine).
  • Fontex® must not be taken concomitantly with MAO inhibitors (agents for depression, Parkinson's disease or infections) or have been treated with isocarboxazide (an MAOI) within the last 14 days. Treatment with MAO inhibitors should not begin until 5 weeks after completion of treatment with Fontex®.
  • Concomitant treatment with metoprolol (cardiovascular and cardiovascular disease) should be avoided.
  • Concomitant use of certain other anti-depressant agents (eg other SSRIs, SNRIs), certain painkillers (tramadol, fentanyl), certain medicines for migraine (triptans), and agents containing tryptophan (certain artificial nutrition medicines) increase your risk for serotonin syndrome (see side effects).
  • Caution in combination with agents that may increase the risk of convulsions (eg, certain other anti-depression (TCA) agents, certain anti-psychosal medicines and certain antidrugs (tramadol)).
  • Caution with concomitant use of agents that may lead to prolonged QT interval - a particular form of heart rhythm disturbances. This applies, inter alia, to certain remedies for heart rhythm disorders, certain antipsychotic drugs, and more antibiotics and antidepressants.
  • Herbal remedies containing perikon may alter the effect of Fontex®.
