Application

Venofer is used at:

  • Severe iron deficiency in cases where treatment with tablets or drops is not possible.

Dosage

Available as an injection / concentrate for solution for infusion injected into a vein.

Special warnings

Venofer should be used with great care by:

  • Asthma.
  • Eczema and other forms of allergic skin reactions.
  • Due. The risk of hypersensitivity reactions is monitored for at least 30 minutes after injection.
  • Hypersensitivity reactions may also occur later, so seek medical advice immediately after skin reactions, eye and nose respiratory or respiratory distress, as these symptoms may indicate hypersensitivity reactions.

❓ What is Venofer used for?

👉 Venofer® (iron sucrose) injection, USP is an established and effective treatment for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients experiencing iron deficiency anemia (IDA). Venofer provides IV iron therapy for the treatment of IDA in adult and pediatric patients 2 years and older with CKD.

❓ How long does it take for Venofer to work?

👉 It often takes 5 to 10 days after a Venofer® infusion to improve hemoglobin levels or feelings of fatigue. How many treatments will I need? Depending on the lab work results, you may need 1 to 4 Venofer® treatments. We usually schedule each treatment 5 to 14 days apart.

❓ How much does Venofer increase hemoglobin?

👉 At the end of treatment, 66% of patients in the Venofer group had an increase in Hb ≥2.0 g/dl compared to 47% in the oral iron group (p=0.07).
