Why do I have a sharp headache?

Questions

Dear Network Doctor,

I'm a 17-year-old girl in high school. I occasionally experience a bad headache.

I use glasses when I watch TV and when I sit at the back of the class. The headache gets worse and worse and I feel my head is going to explode.

The headache comes primarily at both my eyes, and when I move, I get dizzy. I feel my head is very heavy. Sometimes I press my eyes to try to relieve the pain as it's not going to last.

I sleep on average about 7 hours when there is school and up to 11 hours when I have a weekend.

What can this headache be? Since I'm just 17, I'm very worried about this. Could it be worse because it's quite often, I get this headache?

Sincerely, one asks

Dear Questions,

The headache you describe leads my thoughts toward tension headaches.

This is a common phenomenon among people with office work, and you can equate it with school work! Typical of tension headaches is that it is released from the muscles in the neck, pulls over the head and gives a characteristic pressing sensation in the eyes.

It seems like you're in control of the vision, which is another major cause of headache - but is it clear if you could have an undiscovered skin?

The fact that your headache arrives at the end of the day suggests an outbreak problem, as you spend a lot of effort correcting the day! Maybe you should check if you still have the correct strength in your glasses.

The most important thing for you is to get a treatment plan that is effective for you, while ensuring that there is no treatment-intensive condition that underlies your symptoms. A good tool is a headache journal, which you can obtain from your doctor.

With best regards
